Maternity Dress - Maternity Wear Mistake

In those early days of pregnancy, its easy to wear the wrong clothes and look like you're developing a bit of a tum, as opposed to a lovely pregnancy bump (an important distinction, oh yes). In the later days, the wrong sort of maternity clothes can make you look like Demis Roussos (look him up if you like - love him or hate him, you don't want to look like him).

Below being some maternity fashion talks to share with to make sure that your maternity wear collection makes you look gorgeously and wonderfully pregnant:

Please don't wear your partners oversized t-shirts. There is no substitute for maternity clothes. This is not a scam perpetuated by the maternity wear industry (honest) - its simply not flattering.
Choose maternity tops and dresses that fit nicely round the belly. If you are still worried that people think you're a bit fat - try stroking your bump in a maternal way. It always works.
Maternity clothes with ruching work well, as does maternity wear that can tie under your bump. Maternity dresses with ties also work well - they are flattering and adjustable so they grow with your pregnancy.

Don't wear maternity dresses that look like tents (see previous Demis warning). They are wrong. Big, but not clever.

Chances are that your legs will remain almost the same shape during your pregnancy. Show off your pins with well fitting maternity trousers - a good investment for your maternity clothes wardrobe.

Please buy a new bra. I went when 10 weeks pregnant to M&S and discovered that my boobs had gone up a cup size already. The best fitters are Bravissimo. A well-fitting bra can make all the difference to how you look.

Maternity Dress - Maternity Denim

Tala Jeans have introduced a new sort of maternity denim to the world of motherhood. Today, moms that are expecting can enjoy fashionable style, comfortability and lasting use of their maternity denim thanks to this fine maternity wear.
These maternity jeans use a unique under the belly fit to expand with mom as she grows and shrink back down for perfect wear after baby. Unlike many other choices in maternity denim, the Tala Jeans are not created with a huge maternity insert. Why would a mom want to buy a designer pair of jeans to wear only two months or so and then hang in the closet until the next pregnancy? Now they no longer have to make that choice.

Pregnancy wear is not limited to jeans with their maternity denim selection. There are denim maternity skirts available with the same under the belly design as the traditional jeans, but with the casual look in mind for a day in the park or a night out in the restaurant. These all purpose maternity denim skirts are a must have basic staple for the maternity wardrobe.

What Makes Tala Maternity Denim Different?

Essentially what makes Tala Jeans different from other maternity denim is the attention to detail. Many of the jean designs offer a trendy look to a maternity style. Not all moms want to don jeans and pants that look like maternity wear. There is also the belly support provided for women who need a bit of extra help keeping their back supported. The under the belly design supports the weight of the belly making mom not only look better, but feel better as well.

Having a baby does not mean you need to buy house dresses and huge T-Shirts. The celebrity in us all have wondered how these famous moms walk around nine months pregnant wearing designer jeans. Under those fashionable shirts are jeans like those offered. The look is the same as every day trendy styles, with only a bit of extra room in the tummy area.

It's All in the Details

Tala Jeans are known for their attention to detail. These details include embroidery and saddle stitching. But more than a fine stitch and are affordable. When mom and dad are buying for baby, the cost of a designer pair of maternity denim jeans can seem too far outside the budget. The budget stays in check and mom is looking hotter than ever before. Beauty, style, sophistication and budget - that is one fine pair of jeans.

Maternity Dress: Have Your Gotten The Latest Maternity Working Wear??

Work maternity clothing must be comfortable. Pregnancy obviously entails significant changes in shape and weight and the design of clothing worn throughout pregnancy must accommodate this. Maternity clothing, even though it is obviously intended for temporary use, should be durable and of a high-quality as should any garment.
Because it may be worn for more than one pregnancy, designs that incorporate timeless, traditional cuts are preferable to ones that emphasize the fads and trends of the current moment. Fortunately, these are all common characteristics of professional clothing, making fashionable work clothing and maternity clothing not mutually exclusive terms.

Because different types of work demand a different wardrobe, work maternity clothing should encompass a wide variety of designs. Many women have jobs that entail working in a office for part of their work week and doing field work or on-site work at other times. It's desirable to acquire a wardrobe that is appropriate for all of these uses. Sometimes a collection of fashionable suits will be adequate and sometimes a combination of suits and durable clothing for more intensive environments will be called for. Work maternity clothing is available in designs appropriate for these uses and many more.

Maternity Dress: Maternity Wearing In Stages

Early Stage....
For the first three months of your pregnancy or so you will still probably be able to wear your regular work clothes without even feeling anywhere near being pregnant.
In The Middle...
From 14 weeks on you start to enter the "awkward zone". This is where you are not quite looking pregnant, but you will definitely start to put on a little weight. At this stage proper maternity clothes will look way too big on you and so perhaps the easiest way to get through this stage is to buy regular skirts and shorts which have the elastic, or even better perhaps, the drawstring waistbands. Even low rise pants will do the trick for you leaving you feeling as if you are still trendy.
Sweaters, long jackets and cardigans, tunic tops, and loose shirts also work well during this transition time, gracefully concealing your growing belly without accentuating it.
Dressing For Work

For Work...
If your job calls for more formal business attire, then there are five key items which we can recommend:

pants
a skirt
a jacket
a dress
a tunic top

Those pieces can easily be combined for at least 6 different looks, by simply mixing the tunic with the skirt or pants; the jacket with the dress, pants, or skirt; or wear the dress on its own. You could even squeeze a few more outfits out of the mix by adding non-maternity sweaters and tops to the range

While you're updating your wardrobe for your pregnancy, don't forget about your feet. Many women's feet expand a half size or more during pregnancy. Your balance may be off as your center of gravity shifts with your expanding waistline.

You may need to sideline your heels for a few months, trading them in for a comfortable pair of flats or shoes with wide, chunky heels.

For Event...
Black is slimming, it's seasonless and it goes with everything. You can also make a basic black dress suit any occasion by adding the right jewelry, shoes, handbag, and even a wrap, and better yet is that these are all items that you probably already own.
If you have a gala event to attend and want to wear something really special, see if there are any businesses in your area that rent special maternity clothes. Everything from full-length Ball gowns to Halloween costumes can be rented surprisingly!

Maternity Dress: Dressing In Black & White

Every season some colour is touted as being the hottest new thing, but somehow classic black & white always remains in fashion.

Dressing in black and white is the rules of black being slimming and white adding width still apply but how to wear to get yourself look more fabulous in black & white?

Everything looks smaller in black.
During pregnancy some lucky people seem to limit their size increase to growing a beautiful compact bump out the front, while the rest of them stays exactly the same. But for many of us, pregnancy is a time when we grow…and grow…and what used to be our waist has well and truly disappeared by the end of the second trimester, or even earlier. If this sounds like you, if your bump is sizeable and you’re feeling…ahem…very curvaceous…then a little fashion ‘black magic’ may be called for.
Pregnant actress Jessica Alben(seen here well into her pregnancy, and she is rumoured to be carrying twins!) used black to cover it all up at a recent appearance.
If you are going to choose for your maternity dress in black and white clothing is polka dots, make sure they are oversized. Small polka dots will date you. Any large graphic black-and-white print is popular, and you can kick it up a notch or tone it down a notch by what you pair with it. A lime green tank with a black and white floral skirt draws attention, while the same skirt with a black sweater calms the look down. Put the tank under the sweater and you are ready to go from work to a night on the town.
Black and white is generally a more pulled together look, but if you want to wear black and white maternity clothes, you are looking great in a pair of black-and-white checked shirt with your favorite material jeans.
Black shoes are versatile and probably something you already own, but black shoes with white details pack more punch and help pull the outfit together.
For your jewelry accessories, you can go all the way with black and white enamal bangles or cuffs. Otherwise choose to add a shot of color with multicolored strands of necklaces or add some shine with a mix of silver and gold.

If you're petite...
Stick with monochromatic tops and bottoms, which create a single line of color, lengthening your body. It helps if your shoes and stockings match, too.

Go with slim-fitting styles instead of bulky ones. They won't overwhelm your delicate frame.

If you're curvy on the bottom...

Maternity Dress: Best Fit Maternity Jeans!

It’s all about maternity jeans when you’re pregnant. Every time you step out of the house, whether you’re going to the grocery store, visiting a friend or a casual dinner with your spouse, 10 to 1 you will be wearing jeans.

It’s amazing how the same pair of maternity jeans can be worn so many different ways. You can do anything from hills to flip-flops, depending on how dressed up you need to be. Maternity jeans are like your sweat pants except you can’t wear your sweats to dinner.

Since you’ll wear maternity jeans throughout your entire pregnancy, not only should your jeans be cute but they should meet the pregnancy guidelines. It’s pretty simple: They must look amazing, and they have to make a heroic effort to fight PPB (pregnancy plumber's butt), although let's face it -- in the last month all bets are off. To find the best comfort you have to decide what type of band you like best. Many of our trendiest moms prefer these three types of bands: no band, below the belly, and mid-belly.

No Band
Designed to flatter your curves, Habitual Maternity Jeans are famous for the no band feature. These jeans are seen on countless celebrities including Angelina Jolie and Katie Holmes. They have a very low-rise underbelly fit with a button and zip-fly, so they look like your favorite non-prego jeans. An adjustable button-out waistband allows you to wear these jeans at any point during your pregnancy and beyond. These are a perfect transition jean, too. Don’t tell anyone but I wear these when I am bloated.

Below the Belly
If you prefer a little extra belly support then you will not want to pass up on these hot Maternal America Maternity Jeans. A 3" smooth elastic waist band provides an easy fit and comfortable support throughout pregnancy and in the transition period after. When wearing a top that covers the band you won’t be able to tell they’re maternity. So don’t be afraid to wear these for a long as you want after the baby.

Mid-Belly
Want fashion and convenience then Mama Black Maternity Jeans are perfect for you. On days when you need the extra support then just roll the band up and on days when you want to show a little skin then just fold it down. They are so comfortable and stretchy you’ll forget you’re wearing jeans.

Flattering maternity jeans are hard enough to find when you’re not pregnant! If you find a pair of jeans that you like but you feel they’re a bit pricey, think about how often you’ll wear them during your pregnancy and after. The better your jeans fit the more you’ll wear them and chances are for a longer period of time. Don’t hate the jeans you wear, love them!

Maternity Dress: Work Out Maternity Clothing Tips

OK, I know some of us had dreams that when we were pregnant, we would spend the whole 9 months reclining (gracefully!) on the sofa while someone brought us bowls of ice-cream and chocolate biscuits, and massaged our very slightly swollen but still elegant-looking feet. And of course we would put on exactly the recommended amount of weight, and our belly would be perfectly shaped and cute. Sigh…the reality can be just a little different.

Remember that staying active and healthy during pregnancy has many benefits, and gentle exercise like pre-natal yoga is perfect. It seems yoga is an all-time favourite with the celebs, and most keep going right through pregnancy. Both Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry are reportedly including yoga in their pregnancy exercise routines. So what to wear? Your pre-pregnancy workout clothes may not fit for long, and you want to be comfortable, right?

A couple of factors should be taken into consideration when buying workout clothing and will often vary due to individual taste. The first factor is the climate in which you're working out. For cooler climates, long sleeves, leggings and a light-weight jacket might be more appropriate. In warmer climates, short unitards or bike shorts might be enough. A second factor is the type of exercise you are doing. For a low impact exercise like yoga, a jog bra might be fine. However, if you choose to run or do a higher impact exercise, a good sports bra would be much more supportive.

Fabric is another personal preference. Some women find that a cotton/spandex blend wicks moisture away effectively. Meanwhile, others prefer the higher tech Supplex or Lycra blends that are very stretchy and also do a good job of wicking moisture. However, there is one drawback to both types of blends: they can easily shrink if not washed in cold water and hung up to dry.

What's Your Style?
For some women, the unitard is a maternity staple because they create a long line and don't cut into the thighs. They also provide support under clothing without lines or elastic digging in, even if you gain a lot of weight during pregnancy. Most unitards come in a sleeveless or with long or short sleeves, short or full legs, and can also be worn after the baby is born.
If you are not one to go the unitard route, many women really like the idea of fitness separates. For example, you can use a pair of bike tights and sports bra tops with tanks or tees over them. This way, you can buy a couple of each and mix and match throughout the entire week. You can also wear the longer maternity leggings if you are looking for a little extra coverage when modesty is important. The separates do provide a little easier bathroom access than unitards, and when you are pregnant, you know this is a big issue.

I would recommend a few basics for nine months of working out that would cover all the bases.

1 pair maternity fitness shorts
1 pair maternity yoga pants (long or capri); for yoga or any activity
2 really good and supportive bras
1 supportive swimsuit for any kind of water workout
2 maternity tanks or tees for layering

If you want to find something to wear after the baby is born, look for a style that was specifically designed with that in mind, such as Fit Maternity's maternity/postnatal unitard. Remember that your fitness wear should fit comfortably and that waistbands should rest either over or under the belly to minimize unnecessary pressure across the middle.

With your doctor's approval, exercising throughout your pregnancy is not only possible and beneficial, but, with today's maternity fitness wear options, you can be fashionable and comfortable, too! Why not take advantage of the selections available and choose the proper fitness wear for you? Enjoy staying fit through your pregnancy and look good while doing it!
