Maternity Dress: Trendy Maternity Clothing Tips

If you are a trendy mom-to-be, you can continue wearing all the latest trends now that you are sporting a bump. In fact, a baby bump is the hottest accessory and never goes out of style!

Trendy mamas will love wearing the designer maternity denim. Brands such as Seven for All Mankind, Joe’s Jeans and True Religion have all jumped on the maternity denim bandwagon. Love your Juicy velour tracksuit? You’re in luck — Juicy makes maternity tracksuits that will keep you comfortable and stylish.

In fact, trendy pregnant mamas like Nicole Richie and Halle Berry said they continued wearing their favorite desigers throughout their pregnancy. You can certainly get away with buying non-maternity clothes — just look for forgiving fabrics and longer cuts. Many of today’s designers are creating maternity lines, so you no longer have to sacrifice your personal style.

Finding trendy maternity clothes that fit your personal style is easier than it sounds, especially with many top designers jumping on the pregnancy fashion bandwagon. Check out our tips on how to stay trendy while pregnant.
Use pregnant celebrities as fashion role models:
Dressing your body with its new curves can be challenging at first, which is why many celebrities use stylists to help them find trendy maternity clothes. Browse through magazines and check back here at Pregnancy Fashion to see what they are wearing, how they are wearing and where you can get their same styles.

Trendy Maternity boutiques and online stores:
Maternity boutiques like A Pea in the Pod, Isabella Oliver, Mimi Maternity and Gap Maternity all carry maternity clothes that are designed to be stylish on a pregnant woman’s body. You can’t go wrong buying maternity clothes from these stores.

Designers:
Do you love one specific designer for your pre-pregnant wardrobe? You may be surprised to find out that the designer also has a maternity line — allowing you to maintain your stylish looks throughout pregnancy. For instance, Seven for All Mankind has a trendy line of maternity jeans.

Ask a trendy mom:
Don’t be shy to ask a hip mom or mom-to-be where she shops. Not only will she give you invaluable advice, but she may also be willing to loan you some clothes!

Maternity Dress: 7 Celebrity Maternity Secrets

Fashionistas around the globe are becoming fixated on celebrity maternity style and who wouldn’t blame them? “I bet she looks fat in that!” (snigger snigger) is whats on everybody’s mind, but time after time, celebrity A Listers appear in public looking fan-bloody-tastic ….how come, and how can we get the same look?

Celebrity Moms are in the media a lot in today’s world. I think that they are a great inspiration for other mother’s out there. I know I can think of amazing things about every one of these women. So who is your favorite celebrity mom? Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Garner, Angelina Jolie and Reese Witherspoon.

Secret Number 1

Its all in the maternity style! You gotta invest in some hot maternity clothing that is edgy, colourful with up to the minute style. Its ok buying a size up in regular clothing, but as your shape changes, so does the ability to look hot in regular clothes. So this is our very obvious secret: source out hot maternity wear! You know, these days, maternity wear is styled on what’s fashionable at the present time and gone are the days of flowing pinafores, tents and bibs n’ braces.

Cate Blanchett
The great Cate Blanchett has welcomed a third son with her playwright husband, Andrew Upton.

Secret Number 2

Don’t be afraid to layer it all up! In other words, go boho! Don’t be afraid to put stripes with floral or lace with hot colours, layer over layer. This works really well in the cooler months but remember to keep it simple. Don’t overdo it! Experiment and have fun.

Secret Number 3

Go the extra mile for really important events. So many beautiful maternity gowns, maxi dresses and minis are around at the moment in gorgeous prints and colours. Remember that your pregnancy should be a time to remember and you wanna remember yourself looking and feeling gorgeous and radiant. Baby showers, birthdays, office parties, hot dinner dates and family get-togethers – treat yourself to a few pieces of girly dresses and bask in the adoring looks that you are sure to receive!

Secret Number 4

Enhance the Glow! There’s gotta be some benefits to being pregnant, right? Make the most of that gorgeous shiny hair and strong nails and take time out for manicures (even if you have to do it yourself!) and trips to the hairdressers. You shouldn’t need much make up as the new you will be glowing with radiance!

Secret Number 5

Key maternity pieces such as wrap skirts & maternity dresses, maternity tops and maternity skirts with shirred panels and fabrics in soft jersey and lycra will ensure you look amazing without the bulk! Gone are the days when jersey was considered drab, boring and cheap! Nowadays, it made from super soft materials which not only drape fabulously but actually make you look slimmer, just enhancing the bump. Lycra used to only be used for swimwear or dancewear, but now it is available in gorgeous colours with lots of stretch-ability to create amazing styles that accentuates the bumps, curves and growing boobs.

Secret Number 6

Lets talk sexy maternity lingerie! Gone are the days of the shoulder boulder nursing and maternity bras, now we have some seriously sexy lingerie that brings a smile to everybody’s face. It simple: if you feel good, then you look good – its shows in your confidence and the way that you walk and talk.

Secret Number 7

Don’t hide your body! This is probably the most important rule of all and its very true. If you hide it, then you’re probably gonna end up looking bigger. Use belts positioned above the bump (on your torso’s smallest area) to ‘bring in’ wide smock flowing maternity tops and don’t be afraid of figure hugging fabrics layered to create a very sexy and feminine look.
The most important rule of all is to be kind to yourself. Take this time to relax, nourish your soul and create perfect harmony for your growing baby.

Maternity Dress: Celebrity Maternity Fashion

For past generations, becoming pregnant meant that women were condemned to 9 months of baggy, shapeless clothing choices. Maternity clothing which wasn't comfortable or appealing. Today it is different though; wider ranges of maternity clothing are available. Celebrities and well known personalities, wearing the most fashionable maternity wear have helped to broaden our options in modern maternity wear. This of course, helps to increase the success and range in maternity wear stores throughout the world.

Angelina Jolie’s maternity style

In turn, the larger demand for greater choices in modern maternity wear dictates that the stores will have better selections available. Higher disposable income amongst pregnant women also helps. There are many more attractive and comfortable options available today.

Variety in Women's Clothing
Especially over the last 5 years or so, the public has seen many more pregnant celebrities. This has generated more interest in how they present themselves and what they are wearing. Pregnancy has become a fashionable time in many celebrities' lives, translating to more interest and demand for this clothing in the general public.

Hot mama Jennifer Lopez delivered another fashion forward moment when she wore this white maternity dress to the “Movie Rocks” event in Hollywood last winter. In the 2009 Christo collection, a similar dress is a definate yes for just about any bride. As Lopez shows, the Christo gown is a great option for a silhouette that any pregnant bride can pull off with glamour.

This demand has flowed on to department, specialty and discount stores as women demand more flattering and better fitting maternity wear. Retailers take their cues on how women spend their money; this explains the greater maternity clothing ranges on display and the ever growing new lines in maternity wear.

Jessica Alba has been rocking the maternity wear ever so stylishly. We've really enjoyed watching this beautiful actress make good use of all maternity fashion has to offer -- her look is so effortless!

Lifestyle changes such as women choosing to have their pregnancies later in life, perhaps after they have built a career have also become reason for changes in the maternity clothing available today. The same applies to many celebrities, who leave child rearing until later in life so they can establish a stable and financially secure life.

Jessica Alba's latest flick, The Eye, didn't do so hot at the box office last weekend, but we love the style she's been sporting on her publicity tour. Instead of trying to minimize her baby bump with layers of clothing or over-accessorizing (ahem, Rachel Roy), Jess's dresses are all looks we could picture her wearing regardless or being pregnant. We especially love her navy blue Narciso Rodriguez dress she wore.

However, there are differences between what an average family and celebrities can afford, even in maternity clothing. Compared to say, five years ago the choices in maternity clothing, often driven by what pregnant celebrities wear are definitely broader.
It is now much simpler to find appealing, flattering maternity clothing online. You can find versions of celebrity maternity fashions alongside more basic lines; this has helped online sales grow immensely. Also, you will find that by shopping online you have access to much wider clothing options than you would by walking into any clothing store.
